USD 260 engages AmeriCorps members to tutor students in math, reading, and kindergarten readiness in the Derby Public Schools. Members serve their community by increasing student academic achievement and expanding the availability of early childhood education opportunities.

The Educator Academy engages AmeriCorps members to develop effective, compassionate, and anti-racist educators who work to ensure students receive a quality education. They do this through a teacher residency model, which allows AmeriCorps members to hone their teaching skills in a Mentor teacher's classroom for a full school year.

Program Focus: Education The Teachers College Literacy Center at Emporia State University engages AmeriCorps members to provide literacy interventions to students Pre-K through third grade in Lyon, Osage and Coffey counties. At the end of the first program year, the AmeriCorps members will be responsible for serving 120 students with the goal of increasing student achievement. The Kansas Association for Conservation & Environmental Education engages AmeriCorps members in providing environmental education and EE professional development for area teachers and PreK-12 students in Pittsburg, Olathe, and Manhattan, KS.

Program Focus: Capacity Building The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) engages AmeriCorps members to build the capacity of Kansas State Parks and other public-managed lands. Environmental education programming, advancements to public land and its infrastructure, and improvements to the health of Kansas' natural resources through the treatment of public lands and trails.

The United Way engages AmeriCorps members in building the capacity of services and targeted programming that addresses disparities in health, education, income, housing, and food access in nine health and human service nonprofits in Douglas County, KS.

These members will accomplish various tasks, helping maintain the systems and processes by which our cities function and providing essential municipal services to the residents in Wyandotte County and the Kansas City, Kansas area.
